Here at Liberty Hygiene Ltd, we are very lucky. Through a combination of hard work and outstanding staff we all enjoy a secure life. But there are plenty people both locally and globally who don’t and we like to help when we can.
As one offs we have donated towels to Ukrainian refugees and local pet rehoming centres, lent a van or two when an organisation needed one. Come out over a weekend to lend a local charity hand when needed but as a company we like to do more.
Our headline support this summer is with Herd in the City where we are sponsoring one of the elephants which will be dotted around Southend on Sea over the summer months to bring some family fun and cheer to both visitors and residents. Herd in the City is raising funds for Little Havens Hospice based in Rayleigh. Little Havens care for children and young people up to the age of 25 from Essex and the surrounding boroughs who have been diagnosed with a complex or incurable condition. It’s a wonderful place and fully deserving of our support.
Over the last few months we’ve given assistance to St Vincents Centre Southend-on-Sea. This is a busy community hub in Southend which runs vital services and programmes to support vulnerable people in the local community. Do visit their website to just how wide ranging their services are. Scott Marshall, our Founding Director, in fact was so humbled by the work the volunteers do he decided to become one himself. He now helps out weekly at the Kindness Kitchen with free drinks and dinner to all who attend. He is also on the fund-raising committee using his extensive list of local contacts to help with donations. (Pic below of Scott at Kindness Kitchen) Later in the year Liberty Hygiene will actually be hosting the Sleep Out at their HQ in Rayleigh for St Vincents Centre. Scott took part in a similar event in 2021. Participants will stay out in the freezing cold to experience what it feels like for homeless people. It is hoped that at least 30 people will take part but there’s room for more if you want to sign up. We re aiming to raise at least £10K to help this excellent facility. We’ll publish more details soon.
Liberty are proud to soon be sponsoring alongside one of our key cleaning contractors, Cleanology a fabulous event in London . This huge charity event will be raising money for the Hygiene Bank . This charity that works hard to make sure that less fortunate people around the world have access to the basic needs such as sanitary pads etc.
And finally we continue to contribute every month with our fellow IWSA washroom colleagues up and down the country to Toilet Twinning, a fantastic charity that gets sanitation and running water to places around the world without facilities. So far the group have made funds available to build in excess of 15 toilets and a clean fresh water supply!!
