The underlying message throughout this challenging time is that by working together, we will get through this.

The IWSA was founded on the principles of collaboration and support and that is being demonstrated strongly at this time. Our members are continuing to support each other, and we are certain that our organisation will be stronger than ever when this is all over.

As well as supporting each other, members are also doing their bit to help their local communities, and a few have shared their stories with us.

Eden Hygiene, based in Rotherham have donated aprons to the Procurement Team at the NHS Foundation Trust in Rotherham, and these have been distributed to clinical teams in the area with a “massive thank you” to Eden.

Caledonian Washrooms have installed hand washing equipment and hand sanitisers to help their local food bank and community kitchen, which is run by the Broke not Broken charity.

Corporate Washroom Services (CWS) have been able to help one of their local charities when a hotel installation was put on hold due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Prior to the lockdown, the washroom company was due to install toilet paper dispensers in the bathrooms and hand sanitisers in the hallways of a local hotel. At the start of the lockdown they were then approached by the charity Stoneywood Care Services, who support young adults with learning difficulties, including residential care. The charity had run out of both toilet paper and sanitiser. CWS provided them with toilet paper dispensers that were originally planned for the four-star hotel, along with a batch of sanitiser dispensers. They did this free of charge.

The charity in return has been able to repay this act of kindness by giving CWS space for stock that would otherwise would have taken over their unit. CWS have also been able to keep some of the charity’s clients busy too with them helping to tidy up CWS’ warehouse.

Bhygienic supports fundraising stall BHygienic have also been supporting the younger generation through donating supplies to help team member Melissa’s daughters in their quest to raise funds for the NHS by selling essential supplies to family, friends, and neighbours. The girls have set up a little shop outside their house and BHygienic were pleased to be able to supply them with toilet rolls and hand sanitiser.

Fundraising for the NHS is vital at the moment and it is easy to overlook other charities that are continuing their amazing work, but without the ability to fundraise as they would normally do.

Chiltern Hygiene’s  registered charity partner is Shooting Star Chase and the washroom company have just donated £200.00 towards the charities latest appeal to help boost much needed funds.

We are looking forward to hearing more stories from our members on how they are supporting their local communities and we look forward to sharing them with you.
